exporting 'points in space' to AE

exporting 'points in space' to AE

Postby 4754simon » Mon Sep 07, 2009 4:34 am

I apologise if this is a blatently obvious question... However until the latest version of Max2AE is released, i can't use the plugin. (I have obvioualy started researching this plugin at a bad time--in the middle of versions--frustrating!).... I am relatively new to aftereffects, so I"m still trying to get my head around the finer details of how max and aftereffects come together.

Basically, I want to export 5 individual 'points in space' from max, and import them directly into AE as 'null objects'... I want to attach some flames (using trapcode particular) to each of these points.

From what i seen, and from what i can gather, Max2AE can export 'helper planes' and cameras etc, but it doesn't seem to export "floating points". Can 'points' be exported directly into aftereffects using this plugin.

Any advice, or links explaining this process would be greatly appreciated.

Simon,

You can export any object including particles from MAX. If it isn't a Helper Plane, it is brought into AE as a NULL object.

Does this answer your question? I can get you a Beta build if you want to try it out.

Thanks,
