Scaling issue in AE CS3

Scaling issue in AE CS3

Postby jorg4no » Tue Nov 20, 2007 10:11 am

Hi, Im currently working on a project where we have built a stage in
max with a real world scale, this is imported to After effects along
with the camera using max2ae..

...the scale in after effects is quite different, and as I'm not an expert on unit sizes etc I'm having difficulties with the scale Im forced to then use on my after effects layers, which I have to scale down to 1% of original size...this seems to bring up issues with my AE shadows that become very blurry and strange at this scale...

...I read your post in the "scaling issues in max 8" post that I should use generic units, the model was however not created by me and I was not aware of this at the time...

- is there any way to sort out my shadows so I dont have to setup my
whole project over again?

- are there other problems that might arise while working with such
extreme scales in after effects 3d?

hope you can help! best regards ;)orgen

Page 20 of the user manual provides some sample scales to use when exporting based on the units you are using. Using the scale option in MAX2AE should address your issue.

If not, please let me know.
