Changing the default Vray Element names?

Post by Linkitch »

I was wondering if it was possible to change the element name when saving out images.

E.g. the default names would be something like:
RenderA.MultiMatteElement.0000.png
RenderA.RGB_color.0000.png

I would love to be able to change it into something like:
RenderA_(MultiMatteElement)_0000.png
RenderA_(RGB)_0000.png

If it isn't something Vexus supports, is it by chance something you could give suggestions on how to go about doing it, via Maxscripting?

This is absolutely possible. It's the main power and reason in using vexus.

In order to change the name of the render element do the following...
1. select the render element you have created inside of vexus.
2. In the properties panel you should see a name field, which defaults to $$SELF. You want to edit this text to be whatever name you want for tour element.

By using $$SELF. That simply references the current nodes virtual name. You dont have to use that in the name.

Let me know if you need more help with this.

Nice, that'll work nicely.

What about the default RGB_color image?
Since that's not a Render Element, is it possible to rename?

Linkitch,

Can you share a screen shot/.vx file illustrating what you're asking?
