Vexus - Buffer Overflow issue

Postby MariuszStoryline » Sun Oct 29, 2017 7:03 am

Hi,
I am working on heavy project where I have to contol 60 shots through "preferably" one vexus graph.
After finishing a couple of shots in this one big graph my Vexus stop evaluate and gave me this massage on MAXSript Listner:

Vexus - Initialization Success. Listening On Port: 7002
Vexus - Buffer Overflow. Graph size of 4 MB Exceeded

Is it possible to unlock this buffer limit?

Why I can't have more than 4mb?

Please let me know how I can solve that
( a part of splitting the graph to few small ones because that is cost me more time to update all of them manually after every changes)

I am using 3dsmax 2017 SP3+Vexus2.1D on win7pro

Regards
Mariusz

Hello,

Would it be possible to send me your graph? In short, 4MB is the limit for the conversion routine we are using, but there might be a few work arounds. Looking at your graph might help us there.

Thanks,

Hi Matt,
Thank you for you answer.
I am sending my vexus graph which generate message : Vexus - Buffer Overflow. Graph size of 4 MB Exceeded.

because: The file is too big, maximum allowed size is 256 KiB.
I used we wetransfer.com
Download link

How we can work around that limitation?
Looking forward to hear from you

Thanks,
Mariusz

Hi, thank you for your help with this issue. That was very helpful.

There is one small thing with this subject : when I grow my graph now I am getting Buffer Overflow. Graph size of 10 MB Exceeded.

There is a way to skip the limit completely?:)

Mariusz,

The way the information is transmitted, a buffer is needed. I will admit that we're quite surprised that a single graph can get so large. One of the things we are, in fact, working on is reducing the amount of data which is passed between the two applications. In the meantime however, increasing the buffer size further is the best solution. We will send you a private build for you.
